Through the Eastern Ontario Development Program’s Community Innovation projects stream, GCFDC is pleased to provide Kemptville Live with an investment of $20,572. This funding supports technological enhancements in admissions, stage production and audience engagement, equipment purchases and marketing costs to support the expansion of the 2017 festival from three days to four days.
This investment will assist Kemptville Live in establishing the music festival as an annual tourism destination while supporting municipal strategic priorities of downtown revitalization and tourism cultural development.
- GCFDC is one of the 15 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in eastern Ontario supported by FedDev Ontario. CFDC’s deliver a wide variety of programs and services to support community economic development and small business growth. They employ local staff and are each governed by a volunteer board of directors, made up of representatives of the community.
- The Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) is a $48-million initiative that advances economic development in rural eastern Ontario. Through EODP, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) is collaborating with Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in eastern Ontario and Community Futures Ontario East to promote the growth of new and existing businesses in rural communities.
“This investment in Kemptville Live expands the assets of the local tourism festival cluster. Kemptville Live has become a destination event that attracts increased tourism traffic to North Grenville, improving profitability and stimulating growth for new and existing businesses.”
