Eastern Ontario Development Program

The Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) is a five-year, $37.5 million Government of Canada initiative that promotes economic development in rural Eastern Ontario by contributing to the development of businesses and communities. EODP will serve as a catalyst- encouraging new project development, mobilizing broader community stakeholders, and helping to form partnerships that lead to establishing competitive, sustainable local economies. 

The Business Development Program objective is to promote the growth of new and existing businesses in rural Eastern Ontario communities. 

GCFDC may contribute up to 50% of eligible costs for both not-for-profit and private sector recipients. Private Sector recipients can receive a maximum of $100,000 in EODP contributions during the current EODP contract period (2014-2018). This maximum can be met through one project or through multiple projects over the five year period. All costs are net of HST.

The Community Innovation Program objective is to advance community-led economic development to enhance and diversify local economies.

The Collaborative Economic Development Program objective is to support projects that demonstrate benefits to multiple communities and promote broad-based collaborative economic development leading to a competitive and diversified economy, while contributing to the successful development of business/job opportunities and prosperous communities. The Community Retrofit Loan Program objective is to encourage incremental activities related to the development of vacant or underutilized industrial, commercial or retail properties leading to development and job creation/retention potential.
