Modules 3 & 4: Financial Statements (All Day)

Learn about operational concerns and financial considerations, including: start-up costs, sales forecasting, cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets.

Module 3 (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)

  • Pricing strategies.
  • Using market research (including customer surveys) to estimate sales forecast.
  • Defining sales forecast assumptions.
  • Operational issues, start-up costs and production process.
  • Your net worth and contributed equity
  • Understanding the difference between cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet.

Module 4 (1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

  • How to create projected cash flows, income statements and balance sheets
  • Using the provided spreadsheets to complete sales and cash flow forecasts.
  • Basic review of Microsoft Excel
  • Hands on experience - with a fictional business.

***Please Note: Laptop with Microsoft Excel is required for Module 4. Grenville CFDC has laptops available for use on a first come, first serve basis.
