The Youth Internship (Private Sector) Program objective is to encourage employers to provide recent Eastern Ontario post-secondary school graduates under the age of 30 years, with opportunities to develop valuable skills during full-time work experiences within small businesses that are conducting incremental, project-based activities to increase and improve competitiveness of the business. Ideally, these work experiences would lead to permanent full-time employment within Eastern Ontario. Legal commercial entities, Aboriginal organizations, and associations or groups representing business enterprises that are located in and conducting business activity in Augusta, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, North Grenville and/or Prescott are eligible to apply to GCFDC. The project activity to be undertaken by the intern must be incremental activity designed to increase and improve the competitiveness of the business applicant. GCFDC may contribute up to 50% of eligible costs up to a maximum contribution that will normally not exceed $2,500/mth per intern.
