The
Skills Development
Program objective is to
encourage and assist the private sector in training of
full time employees to enhance the skill sets of
employees, to provide transferable skills to employees
and to contribute to the overall strength of the
workforce capabilities of the Grenville County
community. Legal commercial entities, Aboriginal
organizations, and associations or groups representing
business enterprises that are located in and conducting
business activity in Augusta, Edwardsburgh/Cardinal,
North Grenville and Prescott are eligible to apply.
Proposed trainees must be new hires or existing
employees working full time (more than 20 hours per
week). Summer students, temporary and part time
employees are not eligible. GCFDC may contribute up to
50% of the total eligible project costs for course and
materials only, to a maximum of $5,000 per employee and
$25,000 per business applicant, net of GST.
